I told them in DMs to take down the thumbnail, or else I would file a DMCA complaint against the item. They didn't respond within a reasonable time, so I filed the complaint. Then, I started wondering what else they might have taken, and it turned out that the thumbnail wasn't a one-off. It was everything. Literally everything.

The entire project was just a stolen, stripped-down copy of "Rabbit OS Pro", which was created by "why so serious". kristo.stlo had taken the original creation, removed roughly half of the code, modified the visual design slightly, and published it as their own, claiming they had permission.

Despite claiming to be a proficient developer fluent in multiple programming languages, they couldn't figure out how to build an app store for the system. They began popping up in Discord servers asking for help, throwing around a lot of technical jargon and big words to sound legitimate, while completely failing to understand the very code they claimed to have written.

To confirm this wasn't some misunderstanding, I reached out to the original creator of Rabbit OS Pro. As you can see in the screenshot, "why so serious" confirmed that kristo.stlo never had permission to use or reupload their work:

Following the discovery of the stolen content, I called them out publicly. I posted a link comparing both the thumbnail and the creation itself, proving the thumbnail assets were mine, and the rest of the creation belonged to "why so serious".

Shortly after my comment, a friend of theirs named "bagek" jumped into the comments to defend them. They claimed I was "larping" and suggested that kristo.stlo was probably just inspired or had simply taken some code.

In reality, it wasn't just inspiration. The entire project was a nearly 1:1 clone of Rabbit OS Pro. It matched the original project down to the same code comments, variable names, and structure. The only modifications kristo.stlo made were deleting half of the original code and making minor visual changes.

Later on, after the message exchange in the Steam Discussion, Discord Discussion, and Direct Messages pages below took place, kristo.stlo finally took the workshop item down. However, they then went into the official Stormworks Discord server and stated they were going to off themselves.

I am posting this timeline and the screenshots below because it's incredibly exhausting dealing with people like kristo.stlo who would rather steal a project and then weaponize mental health threats when caught, instead of just making their own creation.

Updates:

Update 1:
kristo.stlo reuploaded the creation with an updated description, claiming that they had permission and that it's based on Rabbit OS Pro.

Feel free to pressure kristo.stlo to take this down, stealing is wrong and unfair to the original creator. Simply commenting "Stolen", sharing the link to this blog post, or asking for proof that they have permission to reupload Rabbit OS Pro is more than enough.

They closed the comments. You can instead report the creation as stolen, providing a link to this page as a source, as I have.

Update 3:
After the comments section was later reopened again by kristo.stlo, Rabbit OS Pro creator "why so serious" commented, confirming the above screenshot. They stated they never gave kristo.stlo permission to use Rabbit OS Pro, calling the project a lazy, uncredited reskin. Following this, kristo.stlo delisted the creation and made their profile private.

Additionally, bagek became even more butthurt. They scrolled past the image confirming "why so serious" never gave permission for kristo.stlo to use Rabbit OS Pro, to tell me that "why so serious" gave kristo.stlo permission to use Rabbit OS Pro... They also claimed that I was just jealous of kristo.stlo reaching the #1 spot. For the record, I currently hold the #9 top-rated creation of all time.
